What is Cellulitis?
Cellulitis (or foot infections) is a very common infection of the skin of the foot. Warts on the foot are also a common ailment caused by a viral infection of the skin. There are numerous types of bacterial infections, and foot infections are evidenced by a break in the skin from a cut, abrasion, puncture wound or ulceration.
The most common infection of the foot is caused by two types of bacteria: Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. Both of these infections cause progressive tissue damage of varying degrees. People with diabetes can develop infections by several bacteria at the same time. If left untreated, a cellulitis foot disorders can lead to serious medical problems.
