What are Foot Fractures?
Fractures of the foot bones usually occur due to fall, a twisting injury, or direct impact of the foot against hard objects. Foot fractures cause significant pain, which is usually made worse by attempting to walk, or by putting weight on the foot.
Treatment
The diagnosis of a foot fracture is usually made by X-ray. Sometimes computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is required to clearly see the extent of your injury. Treatment varies with the bone involved and the type of fracture, which normally involves placing the foot and ankle in a cast.
