Diabetic wound care focuses on trauma and infection due to hyperglycemia risk factors. Pressure ulcers and lower extremity trauma are the most common diabetic wounds. Without diabetic wound care, untreated wounds result in further infection and damage to the tissue. Unfortunately, in the end, could result in sepsis, the need for amputation, and death.
It’s important to seek help for diabetic wound care earlier than later to give the best chance for a quick recovery.
